Waiting on a few team members at the Temple of Music.

The Starting line - follow the PINK Balloons!!
Mics walked to honor her Mom!!

Alicia, Nicole Gotthold who organizes Making Strides, and Chris

Yes, the Patriot was there, reminding all of us to get home for the game!

Judging by the smiles in this photo, everyone felt a great sense of accomplishment after finishing the walk. There was pink everywhere, including one brave fellow in a pink one piece easter bunny outfit. Walking with us was Ed Cardenas from Santa Mamba, KT and Mics who were walking to honor Mics mother who is a breast cancer survivor, and we were honored to have Santa Mamba's number 1 fans in Amina and Susan. And let's not forget Ariana who is checking out the photographer with her binoculars.

The Big Event!!

Hard to believe that the CFTC was three weeks ago today!! Took a couple days to recover from a great, but tiring day. Santa Mamba played out on Friday night, and then had a late night gig at Newport Blues Cafe on Saturday and had to be at HiHat by 1pm for set up and soundcheck. They were dragging a bit, but it was fun to see them come alive as the afternoon wore on. '

That's Alicia and Chris - the original "Team Fascione." Alicia and husband Jason got to relive their days at Gregg Restaurant where they met. At Gregg's they used to start each day blowing up balloons, so soon after arrival they were tying balloons, giving the HiHat it's Breast Cancer Pink motif.

I've been unable to easily post multiple photos on the blog with text, so I'm going to include text here and follow up with a blog of just photos.

The music was terrific with Jessie Hughes starting the live music, and then Amy joined him for a couple of songs. Helder Pires, aka DJ Mamba filled in a little time before Santa Mamba took to the stage. Special Guests "Bobby Bongos" and Jesus joined them for several songs.

All in all, the event was quite a success. The staff at the HiHat did a terrific job and everyone enjoyed the show, took a turn on the dance floor and paid tribute to those struggling with breast cancer.

We want to thank Santa Mamba, our volunteers and our fans for making this an incredibly successful event. First time, no corporate sponsors and we will have a substantial donation to make at the Making Strides walk.

Please also check out guest opening act, which includes Indie acoustic artist, Jessie Hughes, AKA Wanderboy. Chris and I went to a wedding on Block Island recently and Jessie and his girlfriend Amy were playing in the church. His voice was definitely like Jason Mraz, or Howie Day and it blended beautifully with Amy's voice. They also were at the reception where they mixed it up with a DJ. It sounded wonderful and they agreed to come and offer more live music for the early part of the day on Sunday. Can't wait to hear them.

SPECIAL GUESTS

Yup, that's Bobby Bongos, aka Bobby Sparadeo. He's one of the guest artists that will be joining Santa Mamba on Sunday at Concert For The Cure. Here he is several summers ago at a fund raiser of his own with Chris. Their fund raiser was called "The Beat Goes On" and it celebrated someone with a heart problem. It was held on a hill in Vermont on a beautiful afternoon and there were many different musical groups that contributed their time and talents. I think it's a musician thing - Music Heals.
